All road safety professionals share a common goal of wanting to reduce trauma on roads. Throughout the transportation industry, efforts aimed at achieving this goal tend to be focused on enhanced crash analyses, improved countermeasure selection, refined risk reduction factors and the continual betterment of design standards. While each of these has merit, limited attention is given to improving the techniques that enhance the identification of actual locations where countermeasures have the best potential to reduce road trauma – despite this being the first and most critical aspect in developing effective road safety programs.

From 10-12 October 2017, four of our Abley/Interpret team members attended the Australasian Road Safety Conference in Perth. Over 650 delegates from across Australia, New Zealand and further afield attended this three day event to learn about the latest advances and research across a breadth of road safety topics.
